Major advances in our knowing of the electrochemistry of the cast nation have taken position over the last thirty years, and the topic is very correct to chemists and physicists engaged on batteries, sensors, and gas cells. This booklet covers subject matters similar to the several natures of ionic conductivity in good (ceramic) electrolytes, glasses, and polymer electrolytes; the thermodynamics and kinetics of intercalation reactions; and the interface among stable electrolytes and electrodes, that's contrasted with the extra traditional liquid nation electrochemistry.

Graph of Pbf Pb 2m 06 versus Pb? Pb for majolica samples. Discussion Our method for measuring lead isotope ratios in glazed pottery using EDTA extraction followed by ICP-MS has allowed us to study majolica from the northernfrontierof New Spain with no apparent destruction to the artifacts. Our results are congruent with previous research on lead isotope ratios in majolica pottery and our values for Pb/ Pb and Pb/ Pb fall within die range reported for both Spanish and Mexican majolica (14). In addition, our results support previous studies that have cited a few production centers as responsible for supplying the people of New Spain with majolica.

Burton Laboratory for Archaeological Chemistry, Department of Anthropology, University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI 53706 We report a new nondestructive technique using EDTA extraction and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) to measure lead isotope ratios among majolica sherds from six 18 century presidios in northern New Spain. Our preliminary results support previous archaeological and chemical studies that suggest one or two production centers as the source of majolica found in New Spain.

A variety of analytic techniques currently are used to provide chemical characterizations of archaeological materials. ; ACS Symposium Series; American Chemical Society: Washington, DC, 2002. 49 MS) have made significant contributions to archaeology in terms of understanding details of technology, organization of production, and interaction patterns. While each of these methods has its advantages, ICP-MS which has become available during the last decade has emerged as a versatile and powerful analytic tool for compositional-based studies of archaeological materials (1-6).
